Modern Farmhouse Design

Here is a mood board we prepared for our client in Riverdale. The Concept Design Phase is extremely fun to work on. After we present to the client, there are changes made according to the clients needs and input.

Modern Farmhouse Board

Is it Thursday yet?

a peek back to a project that I’ve been wanting to photograph. I love the gold accents paired with the floral print sofa and the bold and graphic rug. Of note also is the fireplace design which we collaborated on with the contractor.

New Rochelle Site Visit

Here is a dining room that we did a while ago. I stopped by to accept the delivery for a carpet for the Master Bedroom today.  I was happy to see the Dining Room in tip top shape. Decorators tip: install marble on top of any console or buffet for added depth and a luxe feel.  Next up "reveal day" for the Master Bedroom tomorrow

We only removed the one wall between the toilet and the vanity. It opened up the space and let the light into the room. We also chose not to tile all the walls completely which also created a more open feeling in the bathroom.

Riverdale Install

One of the best parts of designing is working with a client to help them to realize their own design style. So happy to see this apartment ready to be lived in. It's great when the collaboration works!

Almost finished! Maya Romanoff paper is up and I'm loving the way it looks with the new Travertine sconces. Just waiting for the mirror.

Riverdale Chic

I've been working on posting some recent project pics for the blog. This is one of my favorite projects in Riverdale. A lovely family that needed a little interior design help. It was an almost gut renovation on a limited budget but we were able to create a fluid and elegant space with some key elements.

We found some interesting maps on etsy that reflected the multicultural make up of the family.

With a toddler in the family we chose these Flor carpet tiles as an area rug that added a textural dimension but are also very practical. The console is super sleek.

Riverdale Residence Before and After

It was a great pleasure working with this client in Riverdale.  She was so ready to renovate when she called --we immediately got to work selecting the kitchen and bathroom fixtures, lighting and finishes.  We transformed a three bedroom, three bathroom apartment that had been two apartments that were previously joined (but very poorly) within 6 months --the actual work only took 2 months.  It was an almost gut renovation--we took down some walls and reconfigured the space to create more graceful flow.  I will post more before and after photos!

This is a sneak peak at the Master Bathroom. By splitting the tile up with the border, it creates an illusion of more space--the shower and the rest of the bathroom are joined visually.  The glass tile adds a sense of depth as well.

It's been 5 months since we began renovating a Center Hall Colonial in Fieldston and the homeowners have finally moved in.  The project was on time and on budget!  It was a major renovation with 5 bathrooms, 4 bedrooms and the kitchen overhauled.  Here is a before and after shot of the Kitchen renovation.

After.  We removed the wall to create an open plan Kitchen/Dining Room with shaker style white cabinets, stainless steel appliances and the island in a darker wood finish.  The Caesarstone countertops, sparkly light fixtures and glass backsplash add a little sparkle and texture.  The gray wash wood table and Benjamin Moore Barren Plain paint create a serene background that balances all of the finishes in the room.

Almost there! Fieldston Renovation

I am super excited to see the Master Bathroom almost finished at the Riverdale Residence.  This was a huge renovation--5 bathrooms, kitchen and the entire house.  We made some changes to the architecture of the room and were able to open it up for this lovely and spacious shower.  While I actually did like the wallpaper in the before shot it was time to get rid of it and start with a clean palette.

Love the frameless shower enclosure!

It doesn't feel or look like the same bathroom!

Shades up!

We love the Fabricut fabric and the Roman shades just installed in the Kitchen in Wykagyl!  We had to balance the need to let in light but also have the option for privacy.  This fabric also adds a splash of pattern and visual interest in the Kitchen.  I love how fabric picks up the pattern and muted color in the Serena & Lily Riviera counter stools and kitchen chairs.  Just add bananas!

Before and After in Wykagyl Area, Westchester, NY

Here is the before photo.  I came into this project while they were doing a major renovation.  They had already selected the woodwork and configured this entry foyer.  I was asked to create a warm and inviting space.  I felt like the space needed texture, finishes and a little sparkle.

I added the grasscloth wallpaper for textural depth and color.  It is a Designtex wallpaper in a griege colorway.  I love the way the supple leather contrasts with the painted console table and the Currey and Co sconces add the sparkle.  The mirror reflects the natural light from the sidelights creating an open feeling.

Delft Blue, Cream and Brass

So here is the "Before" shot.... this is a Tudor Style house that was very dark but has good bones.  Note the mulberry walls.  Anything would have been a step up from those walls and the window treatments.  The clients moved into the house and were not able to renovate for quite some time.

We are very happy with the "after" shot, although my iThing doesn't do it justice.  We are working on adding this to the portfolio section once the window treatments are installed.  The mirrored cabinet is just perfect for this spot.
